If y’all have been following the blog for any extended period of time then you may have seen an increase in some fully styled shoots which are kind of like weddings but the reality of them is that they are completely controlled weddings per se and also my time to play and experiment. Really these shoots are a way for ALL the vendors to play and experiment and honestly on a wedding day the time that is devoted to getting everything done honestly we don’t have a lot of time to play and experiment with photo ideas and poses as well as visit multiple locations to do many different things on a wedding day.
These styled shoots are ways for us to try new things, see if they work and what doesn’t as well as feature and show off new concepts and vendors. This styled shoots concept all started from a Facebook post of all things. I saw a post from Gena with Carlee Farm which is an absolutely stunning new farm based barn venue in Oxford/Granville County, NC. Y’all – I saw pictures and I had to see this barn. It was and is a fully operational farm but when I got there to tour I saw a whole mess of amazing and beauty that is Carlee Farm.
I mean I swear I squealed at the sight of the covered bridge and the wooden alter that was built for their daughters’ wedding a couple of years back is absolutely perfect and a blank slate for any bride to put her personal touch on her wedding day.
I was able to try a concept that I had wanted to try for some time – bride and a ladder. The two apart seem like and odd pairing I know. But the tree that I wanted to use it at is very special to the owners of the venue and I am super happy with the results. Paired with the AMAZING florals that were scattered throughout the venues hot spots by Rebecca’s Silver Rose and the always a whole mess of perfection rentals by Kelli with Homemade Bride it was a little piece of heaven right here on earth and I hope you agree!
We had some amazing light and some perfect spots through out the day and I am still nursing the bug bites (chiggers y’all – chiggers – but it was sooooo worth it – bugs LOVE me) and all the labor and love by all of the fantastic vendors – this is what you get! Also, stay tuned for some more images from an upcoming feature by Homemade Bride in their Digital Magazine of a special set up that we did this day that I can’t release yet!
Amazing day and an amazing shoot and some perfect models who would sit on top of ladders that said do not sit or stand on the top and stand in large open windows at the top of barns – whole mess of amazing!
The AMAZING vendors for without them NONE of this would have been possible!
