I love a good wedding and even more I love a good down home family wedding that is small, intimate and right in the place that the couple feel the most comfortable. Courtney and Steven live in Charlotte, NC but when it came to their wedding they knew they wanted to get married surrounded by their closest family and friends at Courtney’s mom’s house in Roxboro. I loved everything about Courtney’s UNC Chapel Hill, NC bridal session but this was home.
This was the perfect home for such an event and when Courtney mentioned that on the property there were old tobacco barns and ponds – well, I was right at home myself. I know it took some coaxing and some bravery for her to sit in the doorway of the old tobacco barn for fear that a structure that had been standing for hundreds of years may crumble – but you know what? They built things to LAST back then – just like Courtney and Steven’s relationship will.
I love portrait time with my clients but when you add in some glorious sunlight, an old barn, some ponds and of course the couple’s adorable dog Lexy into the mix – well personal and beautiful become glorious!
Thank you so much Courtney and Steven for choosing me to document your special day. It was truly and honor and I hope to see you more as your family grows!
Enjoy some of my favorites from the day!
