Courtney is finally a married lady! JUST this past weekend Courtney married the LOVE of her life Steven and now I can finally share her bridal portrait session that we did a month ago. I don’t typically put the bridal portrait session so close to the actual wedding but we were having a cold and odd weather late winter and Courtney really wanted some spring-ish flowers for her session. Thankfully we had enough time to get some flower blooming and shoot her bridals to get them all edited in time for her to pick one for her bridal portrait to be on display at the wedding.
We had less than optimal weather the day of her bridal portraits but we had a make it work moment and we also thankfully had 45 minutes – thats right; only 45 minutes of no rain on campus but we were able to squeeze so much into that time frame. We walked around The Coker Arboretum and found lots of color amongst the newly blooming folliage. The flowers and the blooming trees were georgeous and dispite the grey clouds it was actually the optimal weather for a bridal session. I love a good softbox over my light source;)
We wandered up to one of the most popular and well publicized places on campus – the Old Well. Probably the place that most signifies “Chapel Hill” to the outside community, The Old Well is a landmark on campus and is a must do location for all alumni. At some point in their college career they took pictures there so of course on her bridal portrait day we had to include it!
I love the simplcity of Courtney’s dress! It was custom made by a designer she found on Etsy and it really was beneficial that it didn’t have a train because the ground was a little damp. Courtney did get her hair and make-up done for the big day and she was absolutely stunning! I already see the bridal glow coming out in her and can’t wait until I can show you the bridal glow she had on her wedding day! So beautiful!
I also brought with me a brooch bouquet made by my friend Frankie with Shiny Side up Jewels. She provided two beautiful bouquets for the bridal show that I did in January and I so wanted to include them in a real session! If you are looking for a brooch bouquet, I highly recommend contacting Frankie! She has made lots of bouquets for my brides and they haven’t been dissapointed and neither have I!
Enjoy some of my favorites from this UNC Chapel Hill Bridal portrait session and be sure to stay tuned for Courtney and Steven’s wedding post too!
~Enjoy~
