Loving these baby bumps that I have gotten to photograph recently and coupled with these crazy warm snaps that we had in the winter I was able to have maternity and other sessions outside and one of my favorite parks I was able to frequent even this winter. Duke Gardens in Durham is a park I photograph at a lot and every season it affords different photography opportunities as the park continuously changes with different plants and flowers.
Jessica and I worked together when I was a full time nurse at Duke and I was thrilled when she reached out for me to photograph her and her husband as they were anticipating the arrival of their first little one. We took in some beautiful places in the park as well as the “red bridge” and that ended up being one of my most complicated composite/dress toss images to date. It was harder because the person tossing the dress wasn’t able to just back up after tossing the dress. Her husband actually had to go on the other side of the bridge and hide essentially.
We did work it out and were able to get two dress toss images on the bridge! As well as many others throughout the gardens, I am so happy with this beautiful session and their healthy little arrived shortly after the shoot!
Congrats you guys and enjoy some of my favorites from this great Durham maternity session!
