Janet and Mike celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Raleigh Rose Garden and the Stockroom in downtown Raleigh.  They had a bit of an unconventional wedding but it was one that was perfect for them.  When I first met them to talk all about their wedding, they mentioned that they wanted a HUGE PARTY for their wedding day and so when it came to planning, they planned a lot of dinner, dancing and fun with their friends and family.

Janet and Mike said their “I dos” in a very small and intimate ceremony at the Raleigh Rose Garden near Cameron Village just outside of downtown.  It was immediate family, myself, and the two musicians.  Even the officiant was in the family.  It was really perfect and exactly what they wanted.  What they didn’t want was the rain and rain and more rain that fell most of the morning and literally up until 30 minutes before the outdoor ceremony.  Thankfully, the rain stopped and the SUN came out briefly.  It was a very poetic moment actually, when the sun came out just as Janet started to say her vows.  We had sun and no rain until just before we ended the portraits and then to the cars we ran – to keep dry and to run to the Stockroom for the reception.

When we arrived, we did a few quick portraits and Janet and Mike were announced into the reception!  We dined on some fantastic food and the dancing was what this crew had been waiting for!  The father daughter dance is one that will not ever be forgotten as the bride and her dad capped off their dance with the Baltimore Orioles fight song!

WOW!  What a fantastic Stockroom Downtown Raleigh, NC wedding reception!
