This is a true in good times and in bad wedding story. North Carolina has had a LOT of rain this fall and as such many portrait sessions had to be rescheduled and some had to be rescheduled multiple times. BUT when it comes to wedding days – rain or shine the show must go on! As such is the case of Jennifer and Jason’s wedding day in early October.
They had planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh with a reception to follow at the Hampton Inn Crabtree in Raleigh but mother nature decided to rain and rain and rain some more leading up to their wedding day and even rain on the day of. Since the ground was so saturated and there was a very high chance that it would be raining at the time of the ceremony, they elected to move the ceremony to the Hilton Crabtree right next to the Hampton Inn and then go next door to the Hampton Inn for the reception.
It really ended up being a perfect day and it even stopped raining during the portrait time long enough for us to get some portraits with the bridal party as well as the happy couple outside and well – the SUN came out! So when we were all prepared for the rain with boots and umbrellas, we got sun. Ah sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.
Enjoy some favorites from Jennifer and Jason’s preparations and ceremony at the Hilton Crabtree! Stay tuned for some portraits and the reception and be sure to check out their perfection of an engagement session from this summer!
