I always love photographing weddings but it is an EXTRA bonus to photograph the engagement, the bridals AND the wedding and with Kate and Julian – that was just the case. I love this couple and I love that I got to share in so many special events of their wedding.
The day arrived – it was derby day; Kentucky Derby day that is, and you could not have asked for more perfect NC weather than that early May day. It was perfection and the weather was the icing on the mint julep for this great wedding. All things classic and elegant with a tinge of country charm was the theme of the day.
Shortly after the wedding Kate and Julian decided to start a new adventure in a move to Wilmington, NC with promises to return to Durham frequently for visits with family and friends. Well, I am going to hold them to it because I really hope that I get to continue to document special moments for this fantastic couple as they grow old together.
I do hope that you enjoy a few of my favorites from this great Derby Day wedding in Durham and Hillsborough, NC! It was a day not to ever be forgotten! Enjoy Part ONE!
