You have seen Kathleen’s AMAZING bridal portrait session on the beautiful campus of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and now the WEDDING! What a great day it was too!
The weatherman was calling for rain for most of the day and boy did that have me down pre-wedding day. I mean, I can always make it work and I would have managed some great shots but I really wanted to be able to do some portraits outside on this beautiful campus. We lucked out too – NO RAIN! The only thing it was raining on Kathleen and Ben’s wedding day was LOVE – love for this amazing couple, love between the bride and groom and love for how lucky we were to be a part of it!
I met Katleen for pre-wedding prep with the ladies at the reception location in downtown Raleigh. We had some girl time and relax time before the activities of the day would set into motion a whirlwind event. I was able to speak to all the bridesmaids in depth and see all their dresses, which was nice. Apparently Kathleen was so relaxed about the dresses and let the ladies have a real input, which doesn’t surprise me at all because she is so lovely. They decided on some stunning mauve dresses from Leading Ladies LA. I cannot wait to see them all wearing their dresses and more importantly get lots of amazing shots of it! Shortly after hair and make-up, we headed over to the amazingly beautiful Jones Chapel on the campus of Meredith College. Kathleen graduated from Meredith just a few short months before and it was so important to incorporate the chapel into the day. After the ceremony and portraits, we headed over to Venture Theater in the IMAX theater at Marbles museum in Downtown Raleigh for some dancing and fellowship.
And dancing there was. I could tell that was one thing that Kathleen had been looking forward to all day long – she was ready to shake her booty!
It was a great party and night and fabulous way to start a marriage. So happy that we could be a part of it and I hope to be a part of many other special events in Kathleen and Ben’s lives. Katleen has already commented how much she loves my newborn photography, so maybe in a few years (or months) she may be returning as an expectant mom! Who knows?!?!?!
Until then, enjoy a few of my favorites from this great Raleigh, NC wedding! We started the night before the big day with the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at the NC State University Club and then go into the preparations and ceremony of the day. Part II is up tomorrow!
