When we met Laurelin and Chris at the Forever bridal show last year I do remember one thing about talking with her; I wanted to shoot her wedding. It sounded so unique and beautiful that I knew it was going to be a fantastic event that I didn’t want to miss! Well, she emailed a few weeks after the show and we met for coffee one night and she booked! I was so ecstatic to add her to the calendar! We made plans for their engagement session and quickly started talking all things wedding.
There were details about the day that made this so unique and special. Both the bride and groom played polo and in fact that was how they met! They both won titles within the last year and so they were able to sport their belts in the bride and groom portraits and they also had some really great ideas when it came to the portraits. We did an all girls belt buckle portrait as well as since the guys enjoyed shooting (and they in fact did it the morning of the wedding) we came up with some awesome group portraits incorporating the guns. YES – they were not loaded and in fact one of the groomsmen is a cop and 2 of the guns were here so safety was paramount. And also notice – we are far away from any other guests and bodies at the wedding.
The venue was also another huge bonus! We hadn’t shot there before and I had seen pictures online and knew this was going to be a gorgeous location. And in person it totally didn’t disappoint!
The venue was a dream to shoot in and had so many awesome little nooks and crannies that lended to a great overall story. The weather was shear perfection and as it should be for a day that we won’t soon forget. The perfect day, the perfect place, the perfect couple, the perfect wedding.
Thank you Laurelin and Chris for choosing us to share in your special day. I feel so honored to have been allowed into your and your families lives and to be given the gift of helping you remember how special it is. I hope you are so exceedingly happy with the images and that you cherish them forever. Enjoy some of my favorites from this great Southern Pines Wedding!
