When I am editing a session, I often start to think of the blog post. I think about what I am going to say about the session. I generally have a few hours staring at it on the screen with nothing but me and the images and some soft Pandora playing in the background. I relive the time that I was there for the session. The interactions, the moments, the words that I said to those being photographed and what they said to me. Sometimes it is just to get a baby to sleep so lots of shhhhh and the womb sounds or maybe it is a wedding and I take my few moments with the bride and groom and try to get them to concentrate on nothing else but each other for the next few moments that we have together to capture that passion and the emotion of the wedding day and sometimes it is kids that I am literally chasing around a park playing like I was 5 and then post session my muscles remind me that I am in fact – not 5.
Ah, but the moments that I remember about the multiple interactions that I have had with Logan and Chris over the past 2 years through the initial meeting, the consultation, the bridals, and their fantastic Staunton, VA wedding I remember that I LOVED every minute of it. This couple didn’t make me work for the shot – they MADE the shot. I remember that I planned time after this session because I knew that I was going to want to spend time with them and their family after this session for dinner and drinks as the time at the session wasn’t going to be enough. I knew that I wanted to be with them because they are a fantastically adorable couple and they made my job easy.
I remember their wedding day so well. Staunton, VA was a dream location for us. It was everything that Red Bridge loved about little towns and the weddings that are in them. The campus was beautiful the ceremony and reception were quaint and simple and it was just what signified everything important to this couple. It didn’t need to be over the top – they had each other and that was what mattered.
What I love about Logan and Chris is so very simple – I love how they love each other.
I love that I can say to them stand here and in general like this and then just make out and be adorable and they give me so many fantastic shots. EVERY.SINGLE.FRAME. How does one choose? It’s hard. I love that their love is palpable. You can fell it – so much so that when their are there it is as if they know others are there and that others are watching even photographing them and they don’t care. They love each other and they want to show it.
That is what I love about this job. Showing the joy – the emotion and capturing the moments that make you gasp. Well, I think there are a few from this session and I had the BEST time with Logan and Chris in her quaint little hometown of Glencoe. It is a town that if you drove through it, you may not know it until you are out of it. It is small and adorable and it is a step back in time that is JUST what I love. The beauty in this old non-working mill town is well, WOW. I got nothing but wow.
I do hope that you all enjoy the favorites that I have picked out from this session and I also can’t wait to see this couple over time as their relationship grows. I am looking forward to some little Zeiglers whenever the time comes and so hope that I can be there to meet them!
Oh you guys – YOU GUYS! Logan & Chris are gracing the Red Bridge blog again and I am so happy to share them with you!
