You’ve had one of those days, I know.
Everything is perfect; the weather, the clothes, the company. Girls may be able to relate to this more than guys but sometimes all of the above are all you need for a perfect day. Well, the day of Nikki’s bridal session was just that.
Nikki and I had both been a little nervous that the weather wasn’t going to cooperate. They had been calling for possible showers all day. For any other session; hey, let’s wing it.
Bridal sessions are a whole different ball of wax.
Hours before the session there is lots of hair, make up, picking up flowers, and often trying on your bridal gown for the last time before your wedding.
If you have had a session with Annie or myself, you have often heard us give you the most optimal times for outdoor sessions. We want everything perfect for your special session. And if there was anything that was on our side that day it was the weather gods.
We had a little bit of a chill in the air to cool Nikki down for all the walking that was ahead. The sun made me happy and peeked out from behind the clouds at the absolute best time. After the first spot we stopped to take portraits, we were the only ones in the park. But all that is secondary to the one and true truth.
Nikki was born to be in front of the camera. She worked it like a model. I knew without a doubt that I was absolutely in LOVE with every frame. AND she went a long with every crazy request I made. Walk forward but look over your right shoulder at me while you are walking. No problem! Lean up against this old barn. Sure! Sit down in your wedding dress in the grass. Absolutely! (Note: I had a blanket for her to sit on; I have not completely lost it)
All of the above went into the making of Nikki’s absolutely STUNNING bridal session one day in Raleigh. And now that she has wed Benedict, and we have also documented their “I Do”s I can FINALLY share a few of my favorites from this session.
I have known both bride and groom since before they were dating. I was literally there to document the proposal (remember the Selma mud run), I spent a great day with a friend and her mama documenting her bridal session and was there to document the beginning of their union together!
Nikki and Benedict – I am truly honored to have been there for so many special moments in your life. I am so blessed to know you both and continue to keep your union in my prayers. Best wishes as you begin your lives together. I can’t wait to see what is in store for you both!
