I am constantly aware of the importance of a photography session. The importance of documentation of a life in a family, time, and love is something that I am acutely aware of. I donate my time to a fantastic organization called Capturing Hopes whos aim is to provide in hosptial photo sessions for babies, children and their families.
This families story is a little different. Three years ago I met Patricia the mom of this family and grandmother to one at the time – little miss precious Julia. We had a great session at their home in Cary. Two years later and this past fall, Patricia emailed wanting a session and it was a complete different tone in her email as compared to before. Her older daughter had become very ill over the past year and well, to be frank – she wasn’t sure how well she would be much longer. She wasn’t sure the over all outcome of her daughters illness and it was so important to document this time in their family.
The family had also grown by a few members since I last saw them and so we met at Raulston Arboretum for a family session and to get some pictures of the new family members as well as her older daughter whom was very ill. We took our time getting around the gardens that morning and although there was a little bit of a drizzle of rain falling – we didn’t let it rain on our parade.
I do wish Patricia and her family all the best and endless amounts of strength through this difficult time and I pray for healing. I hope in a little bit of this difficult time we were able to capture some precious moments that this family will remember forever.
