When I first met these guys for Liam’s 3 month photo shoot at Duke Gardens earlier this year I had my fingers crossed that they would come back to me for a milestone session and here we are – Liam is turning one! With all my ONE and cake smash sessions, I encourage – well I should say pretty much don’t give much of an option but included with the session is pictures at a local park for family pictures.
Soapbox moment – I know (in fact I just had a conversation with a mom about this) some of us hate to be IN pictures – I am guilty of that. But the milestone sessions are not just about the little reaching the milestone, it is just as much about that family that got them there. So every milestone session = family pictures. And you may hate the thought of you being in the pictures, hey I do, but these pictures aren’t for you – these pictures are for your little that probably will not remember much if anything at all of this session. These pictures are for them and for their kids and those in your family that aren’t even born yet. And further, I try to make it a fun experience so there is that. Pictures do not equal pain with me (hopefully), at least I haven’t had that type of feedback yet.
Now with Hunter and Danielle though, being IN the pictures – not a problem for these pros. I could photograph this beautiful family all.day.long. because I just love them all so much. AND we had some great weather for this shoot despite it being mid December – I found some perfect cedar trees at the park and those were the perfect woodland backdrop for the lumberjack theme we were going with. These guys can rock some plaid like no one can (like I shouldn’t honestly) and when everything just falls into place like this – you get a whole mess of awesome!
Even Liam turned that frown upside down as he took a little spill in the parking lot before the session because walking is HARD y’all – crazy hard. I struggle to do it myself sometimes 😉
Enjoy and stay tuned for his lumberjack PANcake smash – because why not?!?!
