It was such a joy to photograph this family and although they have graced the Red Bridge blog before and we have been watching them grow, this was the first time that I got to photograph them! Annie was their photographer for many many years and many different life milestones but as Annie has shifted away from photographing I got to meet the Horton’s this year for their family pictures.
It was a multi session family and also Sadie’s ONE session which will be hitting the blog soon but this time the family session just HAD to happen in Skipwith, VA on their family farm. It has been in their family for over 200 years and very soon it was to be sold so there were many sites that we had to visit to commemorate this family on the farm. It is a soybean farm and the soybeans were the absolute perfect backdrop for some of the portraits. We also went up to their family store and there is a beautiful pond on the property as well that we had to incorporate.
A whole mess of amazing was to be had that day in Virginia and I am so lucky to have been there to document it. Without a doubt my favorites were of the girls in front of the soybean field in the back of the property. It took a little warming up and a whole mess of crazy going on behind the camera but wow. I am so happy with how everything turned out.
Thank you Hortons for having me out and I hope to see you guys more in the future!
