I love, love, love seeing families every year and documenting them as they grow – and I love it even more when they come from all the way across the country to have me do it!
This was the second time I had the opportunity to meet this family at one of my favorite local parks for a family session. Duke Gardens is the perfect place for a family session and even though we went to the same place both times – I intentionally went to different locations this time within the park to make sure that everything was a little different and more unique this time. It is after all – a very big park and it changes from season to season – so I never get tired of photographing here because it always lends it’s self to a unique experience and photo shoot location.
This year we had some fun with bubbles, Rebekah brought some letters that spelled out the families last name, and I even happened to have a parasol in the back of my car from a recent bridal session that I brought along for some pictures.
It was a hot day in the gardens but it was a great session and some of my favorite images were on the red bridge in the gardens. It was days before father’s day when we did this session and when it came time for daddy/daughter pictures and dad spun his daughter on the top of the bridge, I knew it was going to be great. I just stood back and watched as they danced.
Now, the mommy/son pictures – well, you can see who has the personality of a lively one in the family.
Ah, this Duke Gardens family session was one for the books!
