What a blessing it has been for me over the past 4 years now to go on vacation (well, for one night anyway) with this fantastic family and capture some precious memories of our times together. It has become a tradition; every summer for 4 years now, I have boarded the ferry to Bald Head Island, NC and gone out and met the extended Minior Family and guests at their leah house for the week and taken some pictures of them. This year – well true to form the weather report was calling for intermittent rain on the day that I was to arrive. It has every year. But true to NC weather and historically speaking – if you don’t like the weather in NC, wait 5 minutes. It is bound to change.
And change it did. We had a shower then a break in the action and then another small shower, then another break in the action, and once more – rain and a break. In the breaks we were able to use the boardwalk that lead from the house to the beach as a run way of sorts to capture some moments that were definitely my favorite of the time with the family. The storms lent the sky to be amazing with COLOR and clouds to show depth and dimension. Thats right folks; that is the REAL sky. No photoshop involved. I am not a big photoshopper anyway. So that sky. WOW!
And it is amazing what you get when you tell a little girl just to go dance. Sometimes she wanted to with the umbrella and sometimes she didn’t and well you can even see that I threw one in there that Ms. Elodie was having a moment. I love her to bits. She is overly dramatic just like me and I have watched her grow over the years I think maybe, just maybe there is a bit that she has picked up from me of the drama.
In all seriousness, we did celebrate grandpa Miniors’ birthday while we were there. He is a spry 29 again and he is as fantastic and patient as ever.
Well, I hope you enjoy this years annual Minior beach trip. First up is the host family and in days to come will be some of the smaller groupings that we did while I was there.
Hugs & ENJOY!
