Triangle Florists Association : NC Museum of Art Event and Wedding Photographer

I was so thrilled when my friend Stephanie with Floral Dimensions reached out to me to photograph and speak at the Triangle Florists Association monthly meeting in March!  To gain some friends and professionals in my network is always awesome and when they throw in some beautiful florals – sign me up!

The also asked me to speak on some tips and tricks that they as florists can use when they are photographing their floral arrangements both in their studio and when they deliver them to various venues for events.  Wedding venues have tough lighting for photographers but add in someone that doesn’t have the training or gear to overcome tricky lighting situations and you get mucky pictures.  While I as a professional wedding photographer do deliver images after a wedding to all the vendors involved, not all photographers unfortunately do this and sometimes it is a really long time after the event – so having the ability to take good on the go pictures and share them on social media and their blogs shortly after the event is crucial for many wedding vendors.

There was also a demonstration and question and answer portion with Flower Girl Designs – whose designs and concepts I absolutely fell in love with!  I loved that she had a copper wrist bracelet as an off beat alternative to the pearl and elastic wristlets.
