Ariana brought her parents to the Red Bridge Raleigh Newborn studio recently to visit me and what a precious one she was. She was a little fussy and really didn’t want to sleep much or for long for that matter but in the end we did manage to get some fantastic shots of her. It has been a long time since a newborn has made me work as hard as I had to work for Ariana’s newborn session but really all the hard work is somewhat expected and potentially could happen at each and every session.
While I realize that and accept it and know the potential for it, it doesn’t make it any easier when it does happen. I think she was a little confused between full and needing to be burped and between the frequent feedings she did take little naplets. That is what I will call the 2-3 minutes of “sleep” she did get but it made me move FAST and shoot definitely with a purpose. There was no clowning around with time because she didn’t give me long.
We did manage to get some precious memories and even a few smiles which doesn’t happen in every session, let a lone one where the newborn sleeps only in 2-3 minute increments.
Ah – Ariana – you and your ‘rents are so perfect and I think you are so adorable and precious. Hope to be able to see you more as you grow!
