Welcome, Jacob! : Raleigh, NC Newborn Studio Photography

After an absolutely epic maternity session in the spring as we anticipated the arrival of baby Jacob, he decided to arrive 3 weeks early and well his newborn session was as absolutely epic as the maternity session.  He has modeling in his jeans and well he gave me some absolutely awesome expressions to boot!

He took a little bit to fall asleep with the parent shots but gosh I am so glad that I started and kept shooting because some of his expressions are just priceless if I do say so myself.  His dad is also currently in the marine corps and after 20 years of service (seriously Allan – that means you must have gotten into the corps when you were like 5 because there is no way you are the age that you would have to be to retire after 20 years of service;)).  They really wanted to do some with dad in his dress blues which I have always, always, always wanted to do.  AND Jacob even smiled!  It’s like he knew!!!

I love everything about this session and Jacob was also the first newborn to use the suspended basket which can be used for both boys and girls (I would add some flowers for the ladies).  So the prop officially gets named after him!  So – if you want it in your session, the brown woven suspended basket is “the Jacob!”

We also added in lots of ‘merica themed items with the red, white and blue beanie and dads hat.  Of course we did peel all the props back for a lot of them as well to celebrate simply baby with the brown tones for the flokati images and the baby blue on the bean bag.

I do hope that I get to see this precious family many times over as Jacob grows and (fingers crossed – maybe another one;)).  Love this newborn session and hope you do as well!
