Liam; OH Liam! You are adorable and well honestly, unexpected. Liam’s mama and I go way back to long before Liam was even a gleam in her eye. We worked together as nurses at Duke and have kept in touch over the years since she has left the unit that I still currently work on.
Honestly, Adriane and I had talked before and kids weren’t really on her radar. She was very happy and content being an aunt to her sister’s little girl and well never thought about being a mom to her own little one much. That all changed at an annual holiday dinner that I attended at the end of 2012.
I was told by another mutual friend of ours that I would get some surprising news at dinner that night. Well, I thought that there were two friends of mine that could possibly announce that they were expecting to add another little one to their family. When the time came for the surprise to be revealed; Adriane stood up and smoothed down the front of her dress to reveal a baby bump!
Not who I was expecting but in the end it was something that if it happened of course she would be the best mama ever and love little one to the end!
Well, I had the opportunity recently to meet the little one and catch up with new mama Adriane! And BOY, she did good.
Liam is adorable and mellow. Just what this mama needs! He is a good baby and although I did his newborn session at 1.5 months he still slept for me! What a miracle! They are hard to get to sleep and pose at that “old” if you can even call that old. But really, the first 2 weeks of life are the most ideal.
Enjoy and few favorites from the newborn session that I did recently with Adriane, Stephen and Liam and of course Najone (not sure on the spelling of that one.) AND stay tuned for more of adorable Liam! Adriane has booked me for the watch me grow series of baby portraits so we will get to see a lot more of Liam as he grows through his first year!
