Scarlett, OH Scarlett! You are simply adorable and although she is VERY adorable she made us WORK for this session. Sometimes, when a newborn comes to the studio I have a difficult time getting little one to sleep and stay asleep. Even putting them in wraps and such they are just not happy. Well, Scarlett’s session went kinda like that. It happens – thankfully, it doesn’t happen often but it does. In the case that it just isn’t her day, we re-schedule and typically it is time for a change of scenery.
If we try at the studio the first time, I typically try to come to the families home if able because sometimes the baby being outside of their normal environment is the stress-or that is causing the difficult session. So, two days after try one – I packed up the mobile studio and went to Scarlett’s house. Upon arrival I quickly realized what the issue was.
Scarlett’s family had a house in a neighborhood that was under construction. Like whole homes were being built. There were saws, trucks, beeping, banging everything that would keep a baby AWAKE, yet Scarlett slept. That is is! The studio was too quiet! She wasn’t used to not hearing a ton of noise!
Well, that was just the ticket. She slept like a DREAM through her whole session and was moved from blanket to blanket to prop to prop and did so well!
Enjoy a few of my favorites from Scarlett’s newborn session and jeep your eyes peeled because her parents have booked us for all the milestone sessions through Scarlett’s first year!
