I did a session last fall with Whitley when she was entering her junior year and this was the session to document her senior year. Senior portraits are a great time for kids to make the session their own and especially if you do not do the typical school set-up senior portraits. All the kids in the school get the same set-up. If you go with an outside portrait photographer, you get the opportunity to make the session about YOU and unique. You can bring whatever is important to you to make the session your own.
Big thing for Whitley was to incorporate the beach. She lives in Vidalia, GA but LOVES the beach so I did a session with Whitley as well as her cousins the twins on a recent visit to Atlantic Beach. We had a great time! She brought multiple outfit changes to make each different location special and different. Her mom was very understanding with some grown-up poses that I gave Whitley. She was and always has been very comfortable in front of the camera and is a natural. She entertained all my crazy ideas and that lead us to some great results!
I love the progression of this session as you can tell that we started casual, got a little bit more grown up and then in the end the image of her on the rock standing on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean speaks so much about the journey that she is getting ready to embark on. The world is in front of her and she can do whatever she wants with it!
Go out and change the world, Whitley! You certainly have the best personality that will make whatever you want possible! Enjoy a few of my favorites from this great Atlantic Beach, NC senior session!
