This is the third time that I am seeing Fitz. First time was last October at Austin City Limits. Shortly after they came to the Cat’s Cradle and this time they were in Raleigh at Lincoln Theatre and I brought my camera with me. Some big artists are funny about people in the crowd having “professional cameras.” You can’t take them into ACL and a lot of concert halls and generally anything with a detachable lens is considered “professional.”
This group is big but they have not let it catch up with their egos. They stand around after each concert to meet, sign autographs for and take pictures with, in their own words “the reason that they are able to be on the stage.” THE FANS! And I am so thankful when I hear artists say that. They aren’t all diva and we are too good to talk to you, they take the time to meet you and talk with you and very few large acts do that.
I personally got all of their autographs after the show at the the Cat’s Cradle. It is now framed and on the wall protected for when they are HUGE and I can say I saw them when they first started out and are as good today as they were back then. Their music is upbeat, emotional, and real. I enjoy it, most anyone can.
So check them out at www.fitzandthetantrums.com and you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for taking the time and I hope you enjoy some shots that I took at an awesome concert! ~Rebecca
